NPC Dialogue
This will eternally be a work in progress as I cannot be certain I have all of the NPC dialogue about Hope.

Remember the Purge ten years ago? The Sanctum forced people to relocate. Apparently both Alyssa and the director were victims of that unfortunate event. That's probably why they understand each other so well.
Alyssa and the director are both from the same city, Palumpolum. They're also the same age. Isn't that a strange coincidence? They'd never met til they joined the Academy though.
The Academy is involved in the creation of government policies. The director may soon find himself working in politics rather than science!
Laborer
What the Academy needs is a leader that can bring people together -- someone with purpose and drive who will give people hope for the future.

Academia was built on the foundation of the director's beliefs and ideals. Everything in the past was meant to lead up to this day.
Everyone knows who Hope Estheim is because we learn about him in school. Working with him is like a dream come true!
It was all thanks to the director's work that people had hope - something to live for. He represent the hopes and dreams of many.

Before Mr Estheim entered the time capsule, he put a lot of different plans in motion. He was able to get the New Cocoon Project off the ground.
The only reason we were able to continue a project of this scale -- a project that would take hundreds of years -- is because the basics were perfected.
The director works so hard, he barely sleeps. He jokes he doesn't need any because he slept for 400 years.
The time capsule slows time significantly. Even though he spent 400 years sleeping, his body has only aged a day.

Director Estheim … Er, Mr Estheim built the foundations of the Academy. He even helped build Academia. He does live up to his name.
The people at the Academy prefer if we don't praise individuals. They don't want us to treat anyone like some sort of deity like with the fal'Cie.
I hear he has people call him Mr Estheim or Hope without the title of director.
I'm sure he has his work cut out for him, being at the top and all.

You know how some Academy person woke up after sleeping 400 years? I don't know if that has anything to do with it, but for some reason old styles are in again.

Do you know Hope Estheim of the Academy? He used to be the director. I just caught a glimpse of him. That was the highlight of my day.
Mr Estheim keeps the Academy running. That sort of dedication and leadership is just amazing, don't you think? I'm not just saying that because he's good-looking!
Mr Estheim travelled through time to save the future of mankind -- to save us all. How could anyone not be attracted to that? He is good looking too. I suppose that helps…
My husband is worried because I carry around a picture of Mr Estheim with me. I bet he's jealous!

Sometimes, the director goes to check on the condition of Cocoon's pillar all by himself.
He must feel some sort of connection to that place because that's where he grew up.

Time slows to a halt in the time capsule. He'll just fall asleep and wake up in the designated time.
It's a scary concept when you think about it. It's not that different from being in a coma.
I wonder what it feels like to leave your friends and family behind, only to go to an entirely new place.
Even if you've come to terms with it, there are probably lots of people who don't want to be left behind.
What I'd give to travel to the future with Mr Estheim! But ... but I guess that would mean I'd have to leave my husband behind, and I wouldn't want to do that!

I thought it was weird that my wife would sneak out of the house to visit the Academy. I recently found out that she has a crush on their director.
It really hurts my self-confidence when I hear my wife going on and on about how good looking or smart another man is.
The only thing I can do is try to become a better man. Hopefully it'll remind her that i'm not such a bad catch either.
