X-men = Family. That's pretty much Scott's creed. Scott makes sure they have enough Oreos. Scott sits down and watch their TV shows with them. Scott patrols the school at night to make sure no one's having nightmares.
So now in some weird alternate universe, they are fighting a war and used as soldiers. That is not what X-Men are about, to Scott. His sole purpose was to protect the X-Men, keep them safe. He knows this! Despite loving the Professor and seeing the justness in his case, Scott is always going to be for the X-Men first before anyone else.
So Scott isn't hurt that much by the accusations. He understands that he would have done the same. But now he's terrified of becoming the person where he sends kids to war. He cannot comprehend this scenario at all. Even with Jean's death, the X-Men are his life. He would have never given that up.
Therefore, Scott will take it slow. He won't press and push. He's trying hard to adapt to the situation and be a different person in their eyes. He doesn't know what happened and really, he doesn't want to. He doesn't want to have any connection with the Scott they know.
