The night after Fang and Vanille became l'Cie, they were thrown a celebratory party. It lasted until morning and everyone in Oerba came to see them off. Even though she drown herself in the night's events, Vanille sobbed as they left and Oerba disappeared from sight.
There was a big spat between Fang and Vanille about their Focus when Fang became Ragnarok and Vanille ran away. She very literally ran away, saying she couldn't do it. It was then that Fang resolved to save her no matter what. Vanille can't even pull flowers from the ground there was NO WAY THAT SHE WAS GOING TO KILL ALL THOSE PEOPLE even if she believed they sucked.
Vanille will pick flowers/plants only for celebratory reasons, or for use in food. When they wilt, she mourns their loss. :(( If they're in the ground, she mostly she just ends up talking to them. SHE LOVES THEM, THEY'RE LIKE HER BUDDIES IN THE GROUND.
On that note, Vanille is very spiritual! She could probably roll around in the grass all day and be happy. She doesn't do it nearly as much anymore, but she used to pray to Gran Pulse a lot. It was a little before she realized that she had to do more to help herself, rather than pray for the gods to do it for her. It's one of the reasons she got all fussy at Hope for making a fal'Cie. Not necessarily just the fal'Cie part, but the idea that people could create something that only gods should really bothered her.
When Vanille loves, she loves unabashedly. There are very loose boundaries when it comes to loving people and wanting to be close regardless of gender or age. It's one of the reasons she comes off so suggestive sometimes. She's very pansexual, and has a tendency of falling in love with people a little bit when she meets them.
Despite being a crybaby, she's not a bad hunter. She can justify it because dude, people need to eat. SHE ALSO KILLED THIS BEAR HERSELF.
When she was with Hope when his mom died, it hit a lot of emotions, many of them close to home. She remembers her own parents dying in a similar fashion, and Fang snapping her out of it. The Hanging Edge reminded her so much of the own warzone that she got caught in that it was more the draw to keep the poor, suddenly motherless boy aware enough not to die in the battle. It was one of the reasons she stuck with him, otherwise she would've left him before she went into the vestige. She was very aware that he needed someone.
Actualllly, there were a lot of times during their travels that she realized Hope needed someone. She sort of volunteered herself, since a lot of the other people in the party were stupid. It was one of the reasons he got lots of touchings/handholdings/nappings together.
Vanille can do a lot of different things but there's not a lot of hobbies she's amazing at. She knows the basics of taking and putting a toaster together, and could probably find a problem if something minor happened with the microwave, but if it gets more complicated than that she'll take it all apart and fuss when she realizes she can't put it back together. It's the same with hunting. She's better than you'd expect, but she's not on Fang or Noel's level. The same is with cooking, sewing, and household repairs.
Fang is the one who snapped her out of her depression when her village was destroyed, and Fang is the one who stayed with her when she needed emotional stability without asking anything in return. She admires her a lot for it, but it took Fang a while to convince her that she didn't need to do anything for her in return..
I have more but i have to go shopping. So more later.
